faithstar 3 Posted January 31, 2011 I have recently been feeling sickness in my stomach, that feel like emptiness from my throat down to the tummy. In the past, this was my hunger signal and it went after I ate. I was sick a few days ago and am on fluids for a few days and ever since, I have a huge emptiness in my stomach. I feel physically hungry and it's very confusing. It's the kind of hunger that really rises up your throat...and I can't sleep at night as it's keeping me awake. It's like a sick/painful/empty feeling and constant rumbling of the stomach. It's do annoying as I don't know what this is supposed to mean for me..?? Proton pump inhibitor for acid? it sounds like you might have excess acid.
faithstar 3 Posted January 31, 2011 Yes I take 2 tablets daily that have lanzoprazole. I'm not sure if that's good or if I should be on something else...
myrori 55 Posted January 31, 2011 I would ask to switch. They sent me home on lanzoprazole and I asked to switch to Nexium. Nexium settles down that rumbling and the confusing hunger feeling is gone too. I do think time helped too, I do still get a lot of noises and burps when I eat. fullhandsfullheart 1 Posted January 31, 2011 I feel that way too and it really bothers me. I thought we weren't supposed to feel hungry. But I think for me, it is hunger.. I am trying to learn to just deal with it. :-(
MINI-Me 196 Posted January 31, 2011 It really does sound like stomach acid ... a different PPI should help.
thinoneday 445 Posted January 31, 2011 Unfortunately for a few of us the hunger pangs never go away! Sucks huh? I'm one of those and like fullhandsfullheart I have learned to deal with it. . . and the head hunger is the killer too . . that takes longer to re learn, but together we will get through this. . . hang in there. . .
