I was sleeved on Jan 24th. Sick of chicken broth, Jello, popsicles, and fluids. Seem to have alot of gas and so worried I am going to have a leak. I have uncomfortable gassy feel underneath breast area. Does anyone one week out have any similar S/S?

I was sleeved Jan. 26th, and under my breast has been tender ever since, too. It's probably from when they pump you full of gas to enlarge your tummy area during surgery and it takes a while for that to leave your body. It's perfectly normal and will go away. But check with you doctor at your post-op visit, or if you are really in pain, call the doctor right now. It never hurts to ask!! My pain was worse in the hospital, but less sensitive now, although I still feel it a bit. I, too, am sick of the liquids!!!! But I'm afraid to move too fast and am following my doctor's food plan. I haven't even had anything resembling 3 meals a day yet - but that's my goal for today. I feel like everything I eat makes me want to burp - but it's hard to just burp! Almost like a baby, I wish someone would gently pat my back, haha! Hope you feel better soon.

Hey everyone, Im in the exact same boat! It feels good to know that others are going through the same thing I am. I was sleeved on the 25th and am 6 days post-op. I feel really bubbly and gassy in my tummy. I get a pain on my left side of my breastbone and sometimes feel like I swallowed a big bubble of air. I was just going to ask if the gas they pump you up with is supposed to hang around this long. I hope it will go away soon. I was able to eat some yogurt this morning and it was soooo yummy. I tried some smooth cream of wheat this afternoon and it was a no go! I cant wait to start on more mushy foods. Hope everyone gets feeling better soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
