Robin Lanzoni 1 Posted January 30, 2011 I have a Blendtec. It's 3hp vs the 2hp of the vitamix. I insanely spent another $115 to get a larger carafe for it. It's great. It really is. But I use the little bullet blender more. I keep one at work and one at home. You can make tiny smoothies with the bullet one. A large blender like the Blendtec or Vitamix is going to need to make a lot. Most people post op aren't able to take in very much.
2bslimkim 11 Posted January 30, 2011 I have a vita-mix and I love it. But no recipes to pass yet. The book that comes with it has lots of good stuff however. Good luck!
sweetgalntx 1 Posted February 11, 2011 Ok, I'm sorry but what is vitamix and what is it for?
treequeen 13 Posted February 11, 2011 Ok, I'm sorry but what is vitamix and what is it for? A vita mix is a fancy (expensive) blender that can turn anything into a smoothie, Soup, icecream, bread, flour, milk... You name it (it cooks and freezes). You can hide veggies in recipes so the kids get the nutrician in... It uses the whole fruit or vegetable (minus any bad parts...ie banana peel or too many apple seeds). It is great for adding Fiber to your diet as well. You can see them @ vitamix.com the company is based in Ohio. Vitamix machines are used in places like Robeks. You can get them cheaper at costco when they are doing a show. It comes with a 7 yr all incusive warranty too.
