Ok so I know some sleevers get hungry and I am thinking I am one! I feel so bad about this! I feel like I eat too much as well! Today I had a few bites of a sub sandwhich for lunch (about 2inches) then a little natures own bar and 2 more inches of sub for dinner! Is this too much? I also had a SF Carn Inst Bfast! Even with all of that I feel hungry! Like I feel restriction when I eat, but IDK if I am just not understanding all of this new stomach stuff! Like is there any way my new stomach has stretched already? Thats my biggest fear! (I am 1 month post op)

be carefull about all the refined carbs in bread. It can also get stuck for some people. I would stick with higher Protein food, and just stay away from unrefined carbs for a long while more. Carbs make some people hungry too... Protein wont do that.

Are you tracking your food intake to see how much you are actually eating? If you are active, you might not be getting enough, and you might actually be hungry. If you have post-op guidelines, are you following them? Do you have a guideline that you should be following, and maybe you aren't getting in enough Protein, or too many carbs?

From what you've posted, it does sound like too many carbs for my guidelines that I followed for my losing stage. But, I don't know what your guidelines are, and if you're eating sandwiches then you should be able to get in some dense Protein. Breads and carbs are going to go right through.

You've got restriction, but it doesn't sound like you're eating foods that are going to stay with you very long.

This is so true, I am realizing that carbs do not make me feel full, but as long as i eat enough Protein I stay full longer and have a lot of restriction. Tiffykins- you mentioned about beef Jerky to up my Protein. it has been such a help. It helps me stay full and satisfies that salty craving. Great advice, Thanks Janine

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
