ANYONE APPLIED FOR LIFE INSURANCE SINCE THE SLEEVE?

Recommended Posts

I asked my term LIFE INSURANCE agent with Met Life whether or not I would be rated higher since I had the Sleeve and lost most of my weight? She never told me the answer.\

BC I was rated as standard bc of my weight before, she thought that now I lost it I might qualify for a better rating.

Does anyone know the answer?

I heard private health insurance companies won't accept you if you had any WLS. But she says life insurance is different than health in the way that they look at things

Curious if anyone knows the answer to this. I might need to change my insurance at some point. A doctor (not mine) said to lie! But I think that is sorta risky, and plus I already told my PCP so it is in my health history.

Hi, I haven't tried for life insurance but if they were to reject you because of the sleeve that would mean they turn down all WLS and they are not doing that. I have private health care self pay they did not approve my surgery but they still cover me with no exemptions I even see their bariatric doctor for long term follow up.

I asked mine who's with Transamerica if I could rewrite mine when I lose the weight. He said absolutely and I quit smoking in October so he said to wait till October and get both discounts. It will cut my premium from 125 a month to 55. That's alot of savings.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
