I was sleeved on dec 17, 2010 and am 5 weeks post op. My surgeon is Dr. Prokurat in NJ and he is wonderful, he has the most amazing bed side manner. My recovery was easier than i thought it would be, but am running into difficulties now. I have lost 35 pounds soo far but now find myself stalled for the last 2 weeks. It is very frustrating when you are following dr's orders and eating waaay less than u did before and not seeing any results. I am trying to hang in there and stay positive but find myself having a little buyer's remorse. Am I the only one feeling this way?

I was sleeved on Dec 1st and I have stalled for the last week. I know that I will eventually start losing again. I have increased my calories as well as I can and between yesteday and today I have walked over 5 miles. I am hoping this will past soon. I do not have buyer's remorse as even though I am not losing right now, I have not put on any weight and when can I say that I have lost 40+ pounds in 2 months. I have already at my lowest weight in 23 years. I am almost at my halfway mark. Hang in there.

That is soo true. If i think about weight loss pre-op, it was non-existant! I did exactly the same thing< did a better job of tracking my food and up'd my excercise and i have finally broken my stall! After a lifetime full of excess weight I guess u just get so caught up in the numbers instead of the way you feel. I must admit I am feeling great! So, just have to concentrate on the positive, I think i'm gonna hide the scale !!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
