best thing to do is get a 5 pound weight and test to see what the digital one says if it says 5 pounds then I would say the manual one was wrong got to keep these this calibrated..any I hope that helps

I have a digital scale. Mine is all fancy with BMI and all but still digital. I've always noticied a difference between digital and manual. Since almost all doctor offices are digital that is why I choose digital.

I found those manual analog scales can be bumped off course every single time you step off it. Good luck trying to get it to even read zero. I chose the Taylor digital scale and bought it from Target for less than 30 bucks. It's not got all that fancy stuff - just tells me how much I weigh. I take it for what it is because it always says what my Dr's office scale says and she's got one of those Detecto scales.< /strong>

Good luck!

Digital. It always is one pound more than the fancy expensive digital scale at the surgeon's. Btw, when I weighed last time at my PCP, who uses an old fashioned manual weights type scale, it weighed me 4 pounds lighter than the Surgeon's scale. So who knows which one is accurate?

My husband and I joined this fitness program through his job called Kinetics. They sent us a welcome pachage that included a really awesome set of digital scales "calculates BMI, Body Fat, Etc." Mine always show 2 lbs less then the surgeons office scales, but atleast I know it's only 2 lbs and not a big HUGE difference when I weight again..

As long as you think your scale is consistent & calibrated the same, I don't think it really matters. Just watch for it to keep going down, down, down!

I know my doctor's scale usually is about 3-4 pounds more than mine at home. How do I tell? I weigh each morning in my birthday suit. But, if I am going to the doctor's office, I weigh before I go with all my clothes on (minus my shoes) ... then, I see the reading at the doctor's office. Very simple way of tracking, but it works for me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
