Vegetables and Fruits

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how far past surgery you have to be to start having raw veges and fruit. After years of dieting and trying to increase servings of vegetables and fruits, I actually miss them.

I know it is way to earlry for me; I was just wondering.

Crap...yuck.

What about peaches and such? They're squishy! Melons are just nasty (IMO).

Applesauce?

It depends a lot on your doctor, at 2 months I was having melon/watermelon and banana ocasionally, i suppose peaches would be OK, I think I had peaches when I was early out, but again, it depends on your surgeons guidelines. Tomatoes I would cook a bit inside a wrap in e pnini press thing when i was desperate for fresh vegetables :D

I think it all depends on how your body tolerates them. I was always a salad and fruit lover. I had to wait a full 6 months before I could eat any raw veggies. Cooked I could usually handle at around 3 months. I'm almost 10 months out, and still salads can bother me sometimes. Like today for example. I had a romaine and tomatoe salad with chicken for lunch, and my tummy is still doing flip flops.

I just had to have something raw today (two weeks out) So I pealed half a cucumber, threw it in the blender with a cup of Water, blended the heck out of it, strained it into a glass and drank it. It was so yummy and such a pretty light green. It didn't bother me a bit (this is being written about one hour after) and I got my cucumber fix. It probably would have been nice with some yogurt in it too...
