MJK Media 0 Posted June 19, 2006 Is it normal to get your first fill and for it to do nothing as far as help control the hunger? And I was told I had to wait another month before another fill. that seems a little crazy to me to wait that long. Any thoughts? the hunger is going to drive me nuts! Elisabethsew 50 Posted June 19, 2006 I had my first fill on 5/25 (8 weeks after surgery) and it didn't do a thing. I am going back for #2 on Wed (one month after the first). Call and see if you can move your appointment up. A lot of us need 2 or more fills before we experience restriction.
JulieNYC 4 Posted June 19, 2006 Completely, completely normal. Having to wait a month makes no sense. I didn't feel anything until my third fill. I was REALLY discouraged between fills 2 and 3 (which were only a week apart). Then fill 3 took effect and BAM. Glory! If you can't move your fill schedule up, really question your doctor about what the reasons are. From my research, the best band surgeons in the US have an open door fill policy (NYU and NWWLS do, at least), which greatly contributes to their success rates. If you do have to wait, don't worry. It's just another challenge and as soon as you get proper restriction this WILL work for you.

sheryl 3 Posted June 19, 2006 Totally normal, though it can take 1-2 weeks for the fill to hit... Especially around AF time...
