NJMOMof2 17 Posted January 18, 2011 Hi Everyone, I am day 15 post op. I have been very lucky. No problems up to this point. I started smooth consistence yesterday and it's been a real struggle. As soon as I take one tiny bit, i get a gas bubble in my stomach. So much so that I have to stop and walk around for a little bit. Can you let me know if this is normal and if it happened to you and most importantly......did you take anything and will it pass??? Thanks, Nina
JamieLynn77 1 Posted January 18, 2011 i get what i affectionately call "the bubble" now, and i am a week out. I was getting it almost immediately after my surgery and it has slowly been going away. i noticed i get it when i eat or drink too fast or too much at one time. it hurts but goes away almost as quick as it pops up. if i stretch or move it goes away. and the frequency has lessened too as i heal. so i think it might just be part of it. my doc has me on some meds to restart my inner workings lol (for lack of a better word). and i think its helping too. NJMOMof2 17 Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks!! I have no problem with the liquids. It's anything that has a thicker texture. I keep saying to myself that I have to reintroduce more foods to my new stomach so there may be some discomfort. My sister-in-law who had gastric bypass told me a good trick......she used a candle warmer to keep her plate warm because it takes so long to eat. 1/2 cup of cream of wheat takes about an hour and I can't finish it!!
