juliegeraci 7 Posted June 19, 2006 Hi, I am noticing going to mushies the weight loss has stopped. How long before my body recognizes the new calorie count and loses again? What was your story regarding this?
johnna 0 Posted June 20, 2006 hey julie. i don't have an answer for you. i have the same question. i clicked on your thread to see the answers. i haven't gotten my first fill yet and am on solid foods now and the scales are no longer moving. It's frustrating. i hadn't done very well at keeping track of my calories so today I began to do that again just to see if that is the problem. i'll check back to see if anyone replies. Eficka 0 Posted June 20, 2006 Hello girls, I didnt have any problems with losing after on normal food. Actually I didnt lose for one week but that was entirely my fault cause I was eating way too much than I should have been (candy and stuff, I was on vacation lol). Kathi 0 Posted June 20, 2006 That answer is partially up to you. The part that you have an impact on is your caloric input and output. The other part of that answer is that there is not a set time until you begin to lose again. My first 6 weeks after banding I did not make the best food choices every minute of every day, but I also didn't ever exceed my caloric intake goals (<1,000 calories / day) and I did not lose any weight. We are all different and time will tell.
juliegeraci 7 Posted June 20, 2006 Thank you for the information. I am watching everything I eat and hopefully within the next couple weeks after my fill I'll be back on track.
Kat817 19 Posted June 20, 2006 The one thing I can suggest that helped me, and continues to make a difference in my weight loss (and I too am new at this!) is making sure I am drinking enough Water. I can watch my food intake and not cheat at all, but unless I take in my Fluid, the scale does not move. When I drink properly, I slowly start to drop. Someone on LBT here, told me we have to have it to flush everything from our bodies. Nto sure of the exact reasons for it, but it might help you. Good Luck! TexasRose 0 Posted June 21, 2006 I found the first few days back on solids caused the scale to bounce up a little bit...which FREAKED me out. But don't worry - this is perfectly normal! The weight will start coming back down within a few days to a week....then you will really start your downward trend. If you are physically up to it, I would recommend starting your exercise about 5 - 6 weeks after your surgery. The exercise helped me to keep the scale numbers coming down. You'll notice that your body will hang on to weight and then all of the sudden drop a few pounds. It is frustrating *believe me, I struggle with it* but the more consistent you are with your exercise and constantly adjusting your calories *zigzag method*, the better you will make it through your plateaus. Hang in there!! You guys are in for a great journey!!!
wiggygiggy 0 Posted July 18, 2006 What sort of exercise did you start doing to help things start moving? I've been stuck for well over 4 weeks now and its getting depressing! I'm trying to watch what I eat, and started walking on the treadmill last week -still nothing has changed.
TexasRose 0 Posted July 18, 2006 I started working out at Curves and built up to being able to do 5 - 10 hours per week. At first, it was 1.5 hours per week and then I started to really push myself because I wanted to see what I could do. How realistic is it to keep up with that much working out and having a career/family? Very difficult. Curves says 1.5 - 2.0 hours per week is all you need to do to lose at a steady rate. If you have not done it yet, look at your BMR and what it takes in calorie reduction to lose weight: http://www.thinnerself.com/files/calculator.htm Zig-Zag diet: http://www.naturalphysiques.com/tools.php?itemid=
Wheetsin 714 Posted July 18, 2006 I stalled for about 5 weeks between my eating/food stages transition. Then had a week of the most amazing loss. And since I've pretty much levelled out and am losing somewhat regularly for the first time in my entire life.
