Help - Blood in my mouth??

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I get my sleeve for about 9 weeks ago. Everything was fine until today.

I wake up with blood taste in my mouth. When I spit it came blood like when you are at the dentist.

I eat omeprazol for 3 month. Not eating for about 6 weeks now.

I dont eat spicy food or carboneted drinks.

Is there anyone have like this or can you give me some advise PLEASE???

Go to the doctor, perhaps even the emergency room. Unless you bit your lip or cut a gum you may have serious bleeding in your stomach or esophagus,

Stomach acid on an empty stomach may have caused an ulcer. Go to the E.R.,and be SURE to tell them that you were sleeved. That's veranty import

Good luck,

Cinderella.

I would get it checked out asap.. I had a similar thing happen to me last night only I was awake when I started tasting it. I got sick and up came dark blood. I took a hot bath to calm myself down and went to bed. First thing this morning I called my doctor to find out what I needed to do.. They explained to me that it is sometimes normal to have blood come up, and not to panic. The only time they worry about it is if there's ALOT of it.. If you are really worried about it don't hesitate go to the doctor or ER asap. You don't want to take any chances of having a leak or damage to your stomach. P.S. stomach acid can sometimes leave that bloody taste in your mouth.

Omeprazol helped me very much. I have been at doc today too. He told me to write my eating times for stomach

acid is not good if I goes without food for many hours. But the omeprazol helps. today I feel normal again.

Thanks all.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
