Chat

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd start a chat thread so people can post when they enter the room - if someone's online, but not logged in, they'll get the email that someone's in the chat room if they've subscribed to this thread.

How's that for a semi-solution to not having hard and fast chat times?

It's 6:16pm PST on Wednesday, 4/21/04, and I'm in the chat room.

Hope to see someone there!!

Good idea Donali!

Maybe if all of us just make it a habit to head into chat when we come to the site we will all have more luck finding another member in there that tends to hang around at the same times that we do? I think we all stop even looking and that really cuts anyones chances of finding anyone there. I think Ill go in there right now and take a peek!

I went into chat a few times this morning and hung out for awhile... no luck catching anyone for a little conversation... so went out and worked in the yard instead. (o:

nightingale,

I think the idea is that when you want to chat, you add to the post Donali started, which will bump it into the "new posts" area, then others popping in will know you're there.

Sue

I think.

I'm new around here. Plus, I hate puters cuz there's too much learning that needs to get done, for example, getting around these threads! I have so much I need to talk about. I'm getting banded in 2 weeks, but I might kill myself with food before then. I'm sure a lot of people have gone through "The Last Supper" trying to eat everything in site before the operation, but geeezzzee... it's killing me. Maybe I'll eat so much that I'll get tired of eating, kinda reverse psychology so I won't need the band. Oh, and I'm supposed to go on a low, low calorie diet a week prior to the surgery???? HELP! If I could do that, I wouldn't need the band. Anyone wanna come to Las Vegas to babysit me till then? Wah wah wah, I want my mommy. Wait, I don't have a mommy, she's the one that screwed me up so mentally that I weigh over 300 pounds. You can tell me to shut up now. I just want someone to talk to.

Sorry. I just missed you. Post a hello on the intro board. (I'm old and going to bed now.)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
