Definitely both. It's great to taste food...I pureed them separately to maintain taste but I'm definitely approaching full. BTW I meant 3tbsp of beans..not oz. Big difference!

Hi ladies. I'm new here. I've been lurking for a while now. I had my first appointment with my surgeon yesterday. It went very well. I have to do 3 months of pre-work before my insurance will approve me. I'm excited to start my journey but a little nervous. Hoping I can learn more info here. Thanks for all the insight so far.

Oh, btw, I'm in Baton Rouge, LA. Any Louisiana people here?

I am 4 weeks out today. I have felt hunger within the last week. Especially in the morning but after I eat my bowl of Cereal it goes away. I have never heard that about not feeling hunger. That is interesting.

Yes the hormone grehlin gets removed when the greater part of the stomach is excised dueing vsg. not sure how it goes for bypass or Lapband patients. Some of the hormone is likely to return but it appears that this works differently in each person cause I feel no hunger at all even tho I'm 6 months out. Google "vsg grehlin" for more info

I have enjoyed reading all of the posts to this thread. I am a northern California AA woman who was sleeved on May 12. My surgery went well and there were no complications, except that H pylori was discovered during the surgery. (It didn't show up in the pre-op endoscopy.)

I started my weight-loss journey back in January and lost 42 pounds before the surgery. Since the surgery, I have only lost 8 pounds. I believe this is because I have so much difficulty drinking the Protein Shakes and Water that I'm supposed to. In the beginning, this was because of the nausea, that was exacerbated by the antibiotics that I was prescribed. And now, I just feel so darn full so fast. But I believe this will get better as well.

My surgeon recommends a four week full liquid diet. I have noticed from lurking here that many people have the full liquids for only two weeks. I guess that's a question I should've asked pre-op, Lol.

I'm realizing and I am still new that each surgeon with vsg has their own guideline. My first week was clear liquid, second week full liquid, three week soft food, haven't made it four week think its soft solid. I didn't go home with a drain some do, each practice team seems to have some minor differences. Best of luck to you.

Thanks was getting nervous, I realize everyone although the same procedure reacts to it differently.

The hunger never completely goes away but it is satisfied very easy with very little food.< /p>

Hello. I'm a band to a sleeve. How wear I will probably be going to a bypass. Not because of weight. I'm a size 10. But the bad acid reflux. I had to remove band because of dilation. Sleeve worked well for weight loss but the acid reflux is pretty bad. I don't really want the bypass but you can't stay on nexium forever. And I'm on 40 mg twice a day. Anyone else in this boat

@@pinklove

I am sorry that you are going through such severe acid reflux. I experienced it only briefly in the first week post-op. It was not fun. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
