TheJuice202 63 Posted May 6, 2019 I am 9 days from the table but it's cool to see another AA woman that's gotten the gastric bypass instead of the sleeve. The sleeve seems to be more popular. Congrats on your success so far. 1 Aprilgal reacted to this
TGCRUSE 1 Posted May 6, 2019 Hello from Southeast Texas, I’m about 8 days from the sleeve surgery. Wondering how many more Black men have had the sleeve then how many men period have had it done? 1 Aprilgal reacted to this

CNDC 120 Posted May 6, 2019 I’m getting the bypass in May 14th. I’m ready for this to happen. I’ll be combing back though as I am looking for an idea on when/if I would lose my hair.
BadWolf523 196 Posted May 8, 2019 Hey hey. So as far as my surgery I have not had a single complication. I was sleeved in Aug 2018 and have lost a total of 90lbs. I have had no real Hair loss that isn’t typical. In fact my hair has been healthier. I take my Vitamins everyday (mostly). My skin has snapped back but that can also be due to the fact that I am 26 with no children and where I held most of my weight (hips and ass). I have been fully committed to my journey even my doctors are proud of my success. 1 Wanda247 reacted to this
Samaura 0 Posted May 9, 2019 Hello All!!! It's so nice to see all your stories, success and struggles. Thanks for giving us all a voice of a different perspective. I'm here to gain some inspiration as I'm currently banded since 2010 had great success but as of late a long and painful digression having gained almost half the weight I originally lost from complications. The band is failing me due to reflux and trouble swallowing food but insurance denied removal so we're in peer to peer review to appeal it. Maybe they would cover a revision instead but we'll have to see. Not sure how I feel about not having the band but it's not serving it's purpose anymore. Should I go the distance alone or opt for another surgery? Decisions......

I feel alright and after my first post-op meet with the Dietitian and my surgeon they like how things are going for me too :). 1 Aprilgal reacted to this
