African American Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hello. I'm new to the site from Brooklyn Ny I'm just starting the process. My insurance company is requiring 6 months of weigh ins and I have about 5 different test I have to complete along with a nutritionist and psych visit. I'm in my 2nd month.

I cannot wait. I'm so ready.

I thought about getting the surgery two years ago and never did, thinking I could lose it on my own. I joined weight watchers lost some and gained it back and then some. Just wanted to say I love this site. I go on a read everyone stories everyday. It's great to have such a great support group and an African American one at that. Good luck to everyone. I can't wait to be on the losers bench.

Sooooo I'm officially one week post op. I'm down 28 lbs since the journey began. 13 of those lbs since surgery. So excited I fitted into a top with room that once didn't fit me

I am scheduled to have a revision from lap band to gastric sleeve on November 24, 2014. My insurance company just approved the revision today. I'm so excited to start my liquid diet on Monday.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
