Are you on solid food yet, my dietician said once solid food is primary nutrition is when you will satisfied and fuller longer. My friend who is 7 months post op has lost 90 lbs and said she felt more restriction starting in month 3 than she did in the beginning, so everyone is different. Are you getting enough Protein, some people say they feel no hunger this is not true for me, when I started back to the gym like week 3 and was doing 60minutes of cardio, I felt physical hunger not head hunger because I do recognize the difference. I wish I was one of the individuals who never feel hunger. I'm still new officially four weeks today. Stay encouraged, get your protein in. I also here the stomach is still numb during this stage so you may not feel when you are physically full. You will be fine.

Hi ladies. I'm new here. I've been lurking for a while now. I had my first appointment with my surgeon yesterday. It went very well. I have to do 3 months of pre-work before my insurance will approve me. I'm excited to start my journey but a little nervous. Hoping I can learn more info here. Thanks for all the insight so far.

Oh, btw, I'm in Baton Rouge, LA. Any Louisiana people here?

Lafayette Louisiana here!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
