donkey booty 19 Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) So I'm new to this site but I'm happy to be here and thrilled to find a forum for black folks. I'm 26 years old with no health issues until I found out I had hypothyroidism 3 weeks prior to surgery which explained the excessive weight gain! This made my choice easier. I'm 4 weeks post-op down 30 pounds sleeved on 9-18-13 and I did this to remain healthy! :-) Edited October 13, 2013 by donkey booty 3 Blessedfun, Gytn and A_ReNUDE_me reacted to this
brownsista 65 Posted October 14, 2013 Just chew on the ice! And ask for warm broth! Sip on that! When you get home sip on fluids room temperature.. Water is the hardest to get down! Don't panic I promise it gets better! I'm two months out and I only can drink 4 ounces at a time! But I'm excited because I use to only be able to take 4 sips and be done! You will be ok! Congratulations! And welcome to the new you! Thank you.... Each day i get a little better then the day before..... 2 Blessedfun and Pastor Paula Jackson reacted to this

Mocha2871 182 Posted October 15, 2013 Ok my sleeve family I want to know is anyone having issues with the scale at home being different than the one at the doctor? I have been doing really good and I went in today and it showed different than Saturday. I really hope I did not gain 4 pounds when I have not done anything different. I am not giving up but boy that made me feel a little sad. But I am now able to create my menu with all the thing I am use to doing while I was on WW. I just won't be able to eat all the food on the plate and much smaller sizes. I am in phase 3 regular diet.

My surgeon, primary, and nutritionist all has me at least 2 - 5 pounds different! Even at home I don't know what to believe. As long as its going down I just pick the one I like the most :-) All the best! 3 A_ReNUDE_me, corcor85 and MsK1972 reacted to this

But don't sweat it. I weigh with bra and panties on only at home once per week. Keep in mind if you weigh in the morning you will weigh more in the evening. Water, food, shakes, clothes, exercise can affect your weight as well. 1 A_ReNUDE_me reacted to this

newcocoame 54 Posted October 16, 2013 Hello everyone. Im up this morning trying to wrap my mind around my slow loss. Im 6wks post op (sleeved 9/10)and Ive lost only 15 pounds since preop. My doc told me I have 60 more pounds to go but this is really slow. Since 2011, my grand total for weight loss is 42 pounds. I definitely feel better but I dont know what I am doing wrong. I feel restriction in my tummy and still get constipated a lot. I take MOM, all Vitamins and Fiber supplements, exercise, and eat very little. I havent had juice, sweets, rice, pasta or much of anything. I eat a boiled egg for Breakfast or 5 bites of grits/scrambled eggs. For lunch, a small piece of meat or few shrimp. Snack...boiled egg and dinner some type of meat and maybe a few bites of mashed potatoes. I finish all meals by 7 pm. Im not even eating 700 or 800 calories a day. Im considering going bk to liquids for some meals. I just dont know what to do anymore...

You might try that.
