Looking to make the 20 somethings forum active

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

So I wanted to make an "ALL CALL" for us 20 somthing sleevers. I don't have any scientific proof BUT I think the recovery, weightloss, and other issues may have something to do with age. I am 25 and getting sleeved on Jan. 22. I am the mother of a goregous 7 month old and a wife for the past 2 years. I just wanted to make this forum active again.

With that said?

What's your story? How was recovery? How's Life?!

Hi! I'm Jes. I'm twenty Three . I was just sleeved on December 20th, 2010. I lost 26 pounds pre op, and 24 post.

I have been married for four years :)

I've been overweight my entire life. My mom had the lapband last February, and it made me start thinking it was time for ME to do something.

I had a rough two days after surgery. But, then everything got better with each day.

How are you?

Hey! I'm 23 Years old and I got my super sleeve July 2010. I have gone from my highest of size 20 to now size 6!

Okay I know this is silly but I was hanging out with some friends the other night. One of my old guy friends was teasing me and picked me up like a bag of potatos! I have never had someone do that to me. I always wished I was small enough of a guy to do that without thinking. I know it is silly but it just made me feel good about myself. I am not sure about everyone else but I have to remind myself that I'm small. It almost seems like a dream.

Hi everyone! I am 28 and was sleeved on Dec 13th. I have lost 31 pounds post op and 36 pounds pre op for a total of 67. I had been feeling good but overdid it on Sunday after helping lift a dresser upstairs! The surgeon said I was clear to resume all acivities. But now I have been nauseous and in pain since Sunday evening. So I. Am back to having liquids and hope that will help. Oh and some exciting news. I started out in a 3x top and 24 pants. I now can get into an xl top and 16 pants. Yay!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
