hopeandfaith 6 Posted January 13, 2011 Hello ALL! I was sleeved Tuesday monring the 11th. The only pain I felt was gas. I surprised the nurse because I walk so far only 3 hours from my surgery. The next day the same...only gas pain! I came home and felt GREAT! Now we come to today. I feel like someone beat the crap out of my stomach! Is this normal? I don't know if I hurt more because I'm laying flat on my bed and it is stretching my tummy out? Just need some Sleeve sister advice.
chilo1 62 Posted January 13, 2011 Congratulations on your sleeve! Yep, I was in pain too when I started moving around more, I would maybe not lie flat but kind of sit up in bed with a few pillows and take it easy!
curtsj01 1 Posted January 13, 2011 I couldn't lie flat for about a week out. I had to sleep in the recliner in the living room because it was so hard to get comfy in bed. My home bed doesn't have all the neat adjustments that the hospital bed does. Also remember, that you are moving around more. I am sure your doing much more at home then your did in the hospital and your also not getting the pain meds like you did in the hospital. Take your time. Allow yourself time to rest. It was on day 6 that I felt remarkably better. I was doing pretty well the days before, but day 6 was a noticeable difference. We are all different. Just let your body tell you what it needs. I compared it to being in a car accident. The day of and maybe the next day, your okay; the day after that, you feel like you were hit by a semi-truck. thinoneday 445 Posted January 13, 2011 Congratulations to you! That is fabulous! the more you walk the less gas pains or other pains actually. . . good for you! Keep up the great work! Together we'll get through this!
Tandybo 1 Posted January 15, 2011 I'm 1 day behind you. I did quite a bit of walking in the hospital as well. Came home last night and have just been exhausted since. I still walk around the house, but not doing laps like at the hospital. I hope my day 3 doesn't bring the pain you described. I'm ready to start feeling like a human again
