What a great story from beginning to end. There is such a dramatic difference in you appearance from you pre-op to present picture. You look years younger. Does you husband think he has a new wife? smile.gif He does actually. Not only in appearance, but mentally, emotionally and with greater energy. You have such a positive attitude and you confidence comes through in your message. I hope to have my Surgery this Feb. I go to the MD on 1/28 and will find out then. I am like Irene. I will be a band to sleeve revision. In fact, she and I have similar stats.

Your story is so informative and inspiring. I need all this as I get ready for surgery. Thanks again.

Cathy

Yes I did. I now I am following you here to have the band to sleeve revision. :) I hope my journey is a good as yours. I look forward to getting to know you. Was it a longer surgery and more difficult recovery going from band to sleeve? I am having my gall bladder out at the same time. I am getting nervous but excited and wish it was here now.

Thank you for your wonderful, and inspirational story! It makes me feel so excited for what I have to look forward to... and helps remind me of why I did this.

Yes, there ARE moments when I have my doubts about what I've done, but over all I am very happy.. and it's just six weeks out.

I have lost about 25 pounds so far, and have experienced the "metallic taste of my mouth," and also feel upset that I can't yet eat salads... which I love, and many other things thatett I used to eat.

Still, getting off my blood pressure medication and watching my health improve will make it ALLL worth it.

Thank you again for the inspiration.

Cinderella

I feel so inspired by your story as I get closer to my date. I enjoy getting a heads up on what's ahead for me.I am excited and scared and happy all at once. Getting closer makes it feel much more real and scary, but you story helps so much. Your friends here will never get tired of hearing you story it is a beautiful thing.

You are really an inspiration!!! I was close to the same weight @ surgery. I am a little over 3 months post-op and it helped so much to see your weight lose every month! I have been slowing down recently, and it looks like you did as well around the same time. Glad to know I am not alone :)

I am going to to find you on Facebook :)

I hope you continue to post here. I really hope others farther out will do the same.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
