Two Months SInce Surgery

Recommended Posts

Hello, my name is Denise, however my screen name is Teedeeme. I am 55 years old and have been overweight since I was 7 years old. Many years of dieting, Weight Watchers, etc. The weight comes off and returns with a vengence! I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when I was 27 but continued to be obese. I had surgery for my Crohn's in 1993 and have been virtually symptom free since, without meds. I just assumed since I had extensive abdominal surgery, I would not be a candidate for WLS. During a gallbladder surgery scare, my surgeon asked if I had ever considered WLS. He went on to tell me that he had previously performed the surgeries and didn't see why I couldn't have it. Well, here I am, almost 2 years later and had the gastric sleeve in November 2010. From my heaviest, when I first went to the Concord Weight Loss Surgery Center, I weighed 269.5. I am now at 208, with a goal of 145. I have lost around 40 since my surgery in November. I am off all meds, (blood pressure, diabetic, cpap machine). I can't remember feeling this good! I wish I had the surgery a long time ago. Was I scared? Sure I was! But if you are considering it, I say it's the best thing I ever did for myself.
