Weight loss

Recommended Posts

I now it isn't good to weigh everyday, but I do. I am discouraged, I have been the same weight for 5 days now. I have lost about 15 lbs since my surgery, which was two weeks ago this tuesday. I lost it all in the first week and haven't dropped another single pound since. I am still on liquids and consume hardly anything. What is going on with me?

I havent been sleeved yet but according to my reading you are due for a stall. It seems most people start stalling around week 3. It can last many days into weeks. Your body is trying to catch up with what you just put it through with surgery. And holding on to every ounce it can. Be diligent work the program and the lbs will come off. You should loose some inches during this time. So start measuring those as well.

Sounds like the notorious week three stall. I suggest you stop weighing your self for a week so you don't go crazy. I know it's hard to do….put your scale somewhere inconvenient to avoid the temptation. This will pass and the pounds will fall off. Just keep following the instructions and it will happen.

I have not been sleeved. But, I know from experience with other diets, its really important to also track your measurements. I would not have lost a pound but lost plenty of inches.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
