What to eat before early morning workout???

Recommended Posts

I try to not eat before morning work out - I have read several times that since you have been fasting over night, a workout on an empty stomach burns more fat or burns fat better? It made total sense to me so I googled (hate to make statements without "evidence"):

Wow that is really great info, thanks for sharing. I guess with anything it really boils down to what I think works best for me. I happen to agree with these articles and that I really do burn more fat while doing my morning workout in a fasting state. When I'm doing my routines this way, I do lose weight faster.

I do about an hour in the morning and about an hour to an 90 minutes at night - but for that I do have a low carb Protein shake before starting. I don't seem to have as much energy for my night time workout - so I do have a little something before. For some reason though I think I get the most out of my AM workout.

I do an 8 ounce Protein shake; I need the fuel to make it through the workout.

I am starting my workout again tomorrow morning. It is every morning at 5 am. I know it sounds ridiculous but I love it and I wouldnt have it any other way. There are absolutely no excuses at that time of the day. Anyways I am not sure what to eat before hand.

Prior to surgery I would have cranberry juice and a granola bar. I am on soft foods now and need some ideas on what to eat before I go. My plan is to get up at 4 take my medicine and have a little Water or no sugar added juice and then start eating something at 440 while i am driving to workout.

Thanks for any suggestions!!!!

Brittany

I sometimes have a Protein Shake and sometimes a Protein Bar or half of one, depending on which bar it is and how many carbs they have.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
