AwesomeSleeve 5 Posted January 8, 2011 My journey to have weight loss surgery began two years ago. To make a long story short, the doctor's office I used was not highly recommended. According to the OH website, he had great reviews and when I went to the seminar I liked what I heard but my experience with his office was horrible. It's was often difficult to speak to someone in his office. You always had to email them or leave a message. It would take 2, sometimes 3 days or more to get a return phone call or email from them. Needless to say, I became very frustrated and gave up Back in November when I went to see my PCP for an annual checkup she told me about another program and that several of her patients had had success with it. I decided to go the seminar and was skeptical because I had heard it all before. I am happy to say that I have been nothing but impressed with their professionalism, dedication and caring. I have completed all of the necessary information needed by the insurance company but j was denied because the Weight Watchers program I completed at the beginning of 2010 does not qualify for the non-medical weight program. It wasn't detailed enough. At first I was disappointed but realized that God is in control of this and that everything happens for a reason. On the up-side, I only have to do the program for three months and then I should be approved. This Detour gives me a chance to start changing my eating habits and get use to the taste of the whey Protein Shakes. I am remaining positive and look forward to getting approved in late April. M2G 1,836 Posted January 10, 2011 I truly believe a positive mental attitude is almost as strong as medicine! I found myself having to reframe my thinking too when I would get frustrated with the 6 month insurance wait and hoop jumping, but the best part it is all worth it in the end!! Good luck, and welcome.
