Extreme Pigout

Recommended Posts

Wow I just have to share this with y'all. . . I am sitting on my couch this morning (7:30 AM) watching this TV show called Extreme Pigouts. . . if any of you need a reminder of what we used to do to ourselves, watch this show. . . i started watching it and literally got ill at ease at the amount of food people actually consume. 10 oz of hamburger x 3 patties on a bun, plus fries, coleslaw, cheese stiks, etc . . . to give you a picture of how it affected me, I literally got diarrhea about 30 minutes into the show ( I hadn't had anything to eat yet this morning except for coffee) and now I don't know if i'm interested in having anything either. . . laugh.giflaugh.gif It was so gross i couldn't believe it. . . and to think just 1 year ago i could have been one of those people. . . my goodness. . . sorry if i offend anyone that is not my purpose, but i just needed to share this today. . . does these shows affect anyone else like this? just a question

I also can't handle watching shows like that any more. "Man VS Food" is another one like that. When I see it I just think "how can his body hold all that food? ??". It's disgusting and I really see no point to it. What's the big deal with eating so much food that you almost make yourself get sick, and why do people want to watch someone do that to themselves?

Yes, and the other thing i no longer can handle is buffet restaruants. . . to watch how some people consume food is absolutely amazing. . i so much want to go to them and tell them that its not necessary to do that and that there is help out there to fix their problem. . . i know i used to be a person like that, but i fixed myself and call me snotty if you want but big people disqust me now and i don't really hang out with them anymore. . . isn't that sad? it's amazing what can heppen. . . thanks for replying and understanding, just had to get that off my chest. . . smile.gif

I got sick to my stomach when I went to a restaurant with my family post op for the first time. I ordered Soup, but all of the fried food at the tables around me make me want to throw up. The smells got to me, too. I am not complaining though, LOL. I love that I am not able to eat like that anymore.

I'm the oddball then because I still am purely fascinated by these shows. I never watched people eat pre-op, and I still don't watch people eat. My mom has the band, and she now gets repulsed watching obese people eat. But, for me, I could care less. I know that seems cold and heartless, but I'm too worried about what I'm eating to even notice anyone else.

I'm still a fat girl stuck in a size 2 body. Mentally, I still have fat tendencies, and my husband has even recognized some of my behaviors. I still go to buffets, and still get way too much food. Cool thing is that I bring lots of food home.

I actually feel like I have a closer more healthful relationship with food now, kind of like I have gone from having cheap one night stands to a long term respectful relationship ... but with food. =P

I eat in a difac, a cafeteria so I see what people ask to be slopped onto their plates and it's not exactly gross but I do stare in fascination; rice AND lasagna AND spaghetti?! A slab of mac & cheese that takes up an entire dinner plate and is 3 inches thick?? ugh.

Yeah, a lot of the kids who have cheeseburgers and fries drenched in gravy and mozzerella sticks are young males, like 19 yrs old, so they burn it off just by shrugging on their body armor, but the majority are not young and high speed.

I just don't have a taste for a lot of the bad stuff anymore, thank goodness. We had the prettiest cake for Christmas dinner and I tasted one bite; chiffon with marzipan and raspberry jam, and that was all I wanted. Fresh artisan crafted baguette however, straight out of the baker's oven, I couldn't have resisted if 100 dollars were waved in front of me, I easily nibbled a couple of inches over the course of the morning.

You didn't fix yourself, a surgeon fixed you. If not for surgery, you would've remained one of those big people who disgust you. I don't know if you are snotty, but definitely a hypocrite.

thinoneday- I understand your repulsion... I feel that way too... I am not sleeved yet, but I feel the same way about other fat ppl as I do about myself in my current condition. I think because when I see someone else, I wonder if that is how I look to other ppl...Fat grosses me out and when it's in my face it is a reminder that I am one of them and when ppl see me they think bad things...sometimes say hurtful things...or act like i'm invisible. Even though fat repulses me, I am always nice to ppl no matter how they look.

I have this dream where I am being tortured and the form of torture is me being force fed. I mean I feel like I have eaten a four course meal after I have one bean burrito from Taco Bell. It makes me anxious to think of being forced to try to eat a huge meal. However I still love Man Vs food and I gotta look up this Pig Out show. Another good show is Freaky Eaters.

I think anytime we are forced to recognize our own flaws in others it is uncomfortable.

Thanks for your understanding guys! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. . . I find that I "gently" talk to my daughter to help her not look that way either. . . she is chunky and I don't want her getting morbidly obese. . .poor baby :(

I don't want to offend anyone... But in Florida I have seen the biggest food portions ever. I mean, I am a great eater, obviously. Here I eat more than anyone I know. I sometimes go home from a restaurant being still hungry and eat a couple of Snacks. But on my last holiday in the US I had to share Breakfast with my hubby in order to finish everything. Or I had one single entree, no appetizers nor Desserts, because I couldn't have managed it. I wasn't really shocked, but it made me think. I am noone to judge, seriously. I am obese, and have always been, in a culture where there is no place for big people. No clothing shops for anyone who is over a size 8, for example. But I heard that the US are the country with the most obese people in the world and I guess portions at reastaurants do not help staying thin. Neither does the fact that you can get food 24/7 everywhere, I guess... It is just a thought and this seemed the right topic to share it with you guys... It must be really hard to stay on a diet when you simply surrounded by food.

Hi and welcome! yes you are very right, the USA has the biggest obesity problem ever. . probably why we all need sleeves laugh.gif ( the truth always hits home) no offense taken on my part. . where do you live? I live in San Antonio, Texas and we are the 3rd LARGEST in the nation and I mean in obesity I think Chicago wins. . but I'm not sure. . all i know San Antonio's population is very obese. . .if you think the portions of food are large in Florida, you should try in San Antonio! It's enough to blow your mind. . .

I totally didn't see this thread before starting the other one. However it's kinda on the same lines, but a bit different. This is about eating and way over indulging. The Man vs. food show is so disgusting and I want to vomit when I happen to see it's on. I honestly can not figure out why he isn't 500+ lbs eating like that. He must burn 10,000 calories per day to be able to stay at his current weight, which honestly he can stand to lose some. Not only that, the quality of food he's eating... he's gotta be only a blink away from a stroke or heart attack... so gross!!!

I'm personally not, I'd say, disgusted with seeing super or morbidly obese people. I'm more along the line of feeling sympathy for them. I'm so wishing I could just walk right up to them, hug them and say "there is hope for you!!!" That would be incredibly rude though, and I wouldn't dare, but still... The response would always be, "well, i'd never cut my stomach out!!!" Really though, that sort of lifestyle is way more dangerous than having surgery will ever be. I can only hope that someday they get fed up and say enough's enough.

That's what I did.

I have set a recording for the Extreme Eating show!! That does look very interesting. I'm also so very fascinated by certain addictions. I like the show about weird addictions too... like the one coming up where this lady is addicted to eating pillow cushions... I mean... really???

I agree, i was impressed when i went to NY a few years ago. I live in England but lived in the USA for the furst 9 years of my life (wasn't overweight as a child) But I told my husband I was glad I didn't live in the States anymore could I would probably be dead from some obesity related disease. Having said that apparently england is folowin the US in obesity, but the portions of food here are 1/4 of the ones i got in NY/NJ!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
