Vitamins after surgery

Recommended Posts

Hello Sleevers:

If you are anything like me, once I passed my 4-week mark, my surgeon said I no longer had to crush my pills and eat chewy Vitamins... and could return to taking normal pills the normal way.

Just as we must get our Protein in, it is very important that we get our daily multi-vitamins so as not to be exhausted, low energy, and have dull hair. Problem is, all of the Vitamins and supplements that I have found are HUGE pills, there is no way I am stuffing that gigantic horse pills down my teeny tiny esophogus... don't know about you.

Wanted to let you all know that I've found a solution. There IS a teeny Vitamin pill available. It is sold at Whole Foods, but you could buy it online, or order it from your vitamin store. It is called TINY TABS MULTI VITAMIN, and made by a company called New Chapter Organics.

These tiny vitamins contain everything, even Selenium, and are as powerful as the big ones, but the size of a microdot. I also take liquid Omega Oils.. there are lots of those on the market, but it is not so easy to find the small vitamins.

Check them out!

Good luck, Cinderella

I bought my Multi-Vitamin at Sam's.. It's the store brand pill, but it does the same as the Centrum and is a lot cheaper. Also it's a lot smaller then other Vitamins out there.. I was also told if I had problems with swallowing the pills I could chew 2 childrens vitamins once a day and get the same results..

There are also ADULT chewable vitamins out there too, I seem to remember that one brand had an adult Gummy Vitamin too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
