WynterStar 0 Posted January 4, 2011 PLEASE HELP ME .....I had the lap-band done in the US and now I am having problems with it . I now want to get the Sleeve in Mexico because I cant afford it here in the US. I dont know what doctor to choose , who is the best , what Mexico city is the best to travel to ? Can someone please help me ! I need some advice .....which doctor to choose, which doctor works out of hospitals . Also there are price differences 5000- 9000 , if I choose the one that cost more do I get better service? All I want is to pick a good doctor for the best price in a clean hospital. txbina 0 Posted January 15, 2011 I went to Dr Aceves in Mexicali. I was extremely pleased with the care I received. The hospital was extemely clean and was continuously being cleaned to keep it that way. The area of Mexico seemed safe. My husband and I went on a walk the night before the surgery. My mother in law and a friend have also had surgery with Dr Aceves. My surgery was this past December, my friend's was last summer and my mother in law's was in October of 2009. Becca 108 Posted January 15, 2011 I wish you the best. I am so happy after getting rid of my band and getting the sleeve. I did the opposite. I had my band In Mexico and then had my sleeve here since my insurance took off the exclusion. You will do fine in Mexico. The sleeve is so worth it. A friend of mine used Dr. Alvarez and had a great experience. He even wrote a sleeve book so you might want to look into him as well. He has a Youtube sight with lots of his patient's stories.
