juliarh 35 Posted December 28, 2010 Ok, I can now wear Victoria Secret's bras (yay me!) -- BUT, I have NO idea which bras are good, etc. I need some recommendations! I am a 38 D right now (my 42 DDs are huge on me) -- basically I need my girls to go up and together I would really appreciate any input because I have to order online (yep, sucks) -- so any guidance would be HIGHLY appreciated
Tiffykins 673 Posted December 28, 2010 Every single one of their bras fit differently. I just went and got measured, and tried on 18, YES 18 different bras there and not a single one fit properly. They are also extremely expensive, and you might lose without being able to wear them for too long. I waited until I knew I wasn't going to lose anymore breast tissue. Literally 25lbs ago, I was still a solid 36 big C cup, today, Yeah, I'm a measily 32 tiny B, and I mean tiny. The only reason I'm a B cup is because of the excess skin, and it's not pretty. None of VS bras fit right, the side of their bras are extremely thin so if you have fat or skin, you're going to get the rollover, and it's uncomfortable. I found one that "fit" decently, but made the girls look horrendous. So, that really didn't do me any favors. The one bra my friend swears by from VS is the miraculous bra. I felt like my boob skin was sitting on a shelf in those bras, but they may work for you. I tried on various sizings in all their bras as well to see if we could find a happy medium. No such luck. If you shop online, make sure you keep the receipt, and leave the tag on until you know for sure it fits properly in the event you need to return it. Bend over, twist, move around in it before you decide to keep it. It might feel "right" for the first 5 minutes, but think all day wear, and movement. That's the one thing I did in the dressing room. I moved around, lifted my arms, stretched out bent over, and realized that not a single one of them would work long term. Wacoal bras are supposed to be the best out there, and I have a friend that swears by them so I'm trying to find somewhere local that carries them in my size. juliarh 35 Posted December 28, 2010 Thanks so much Tiff -- I just went online and googled Wacoal and they have an online store -- maybe you could see if they have any retailers near where you live . . . the bras look nice and actually look like they might lift the girls up a bit -- thanks again! Stacy160 201 Posted December 29, 2010 I've never tried a VS bra on in my entire life... even when I was thin I felt like an ox in that store. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Carol Wior front closure lace bra though. I saw her on QVC for several years and thought it looked like a good one, but never ordered because they're regularly something like $28... then it occurred to me to see if I could find them on eBay, and I did.... I've bought many over the last 7-8 years for around $7. http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-Carol-Wior-White-Lace-Hook-Front-Closeure-Bra-42DDD-/190484534991?pt=US_CSA_WC_Intimates&hash=item2c59c356cf That looks like the only one on there right now. They run true to size, they're comfortable, they give the girls a nice shape, put them where they belong, and most importantly, KEEP them there... there's no pulling and tugging to rotate everything back up where it's supposed to be through the day. The only other style of hers I've tried is the zip-front sports bra, which works well but runs a little on the small size. But this one here, that's my all-time favorite bra. sleeve 4 me 910 Posted December 29, 2010 I LOVE the corset bra at Fredricks. It held my DD's up and currently my 36 D ...I've gotten some on sale for as low as $9.

OK I've seen those Wacoal bras at Macy's and they are super expensive, BUT I have seen them on sale. Maybe I will try one next sale
juliarh 35 Posted December 30, 2010 Thanks Sleeve -- never considered Fredericks!! I guess the most surprising thing for me has been that even though I've lost a ton of inches in the boob area, mine are still relatively big, sigh. Granted, I have at least 60 more pounds to go, so maybe I'll be smaller yet! Thanks again!

I had never considered Fredricks either until a friend who was also over weight (and large on top) suggested their bras. They have bigger sizes than VS. LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted December 30, 2010 I took a suggestion from someone here at this website, that Kohl's actually have some good choices. I bought some Lilyette bras and they push up really great and (as Tiffy suggested here) they stay in place and are very comfy to wear all day. Not expensive either! I'm trying to keep my shopping lesser than in price right now, because I honestly don't know how long I'll be able to wear any one size. Before surgery I was wearing a 40D, though it should've probably been a 42, but I REFUSED to buy anymore big clothes!! Now I'm wearing 36D very comfortably, and it hasn't even been 4 months post op yet. I still have around 80 Lbs to lose too...

I got 4 new bras (they are so pretty, and gorgeous colors, not to mention sexy lol) for $6.49 each. More importantly they hold the girls up .
educationrulz 18 Posted January 6, 2011 Vanity Fair Beautiful Benefits! I can't even feel the underwire and that's saying alot from someone who had a breast reduction. They feel good, look pretty, and make your tops fit nicely. If you buy the right size it will smooth out the back fat too. I order online from JCPenney and try to catch them on sale. As a bra officionado (sp?), I can honestly say this is the BEST bra I've ever worn.
creativeteach 20 Posted January 6, 2011 I have purchased Wacoal bras from Nordstroms. They are pricey but well worth it as they are supportive and comfortable. The sales associates are so helpful. They measure you as well as suggest different types of bras.
Globetrotter 1,340 Posted January 12, 2011 I'm finally small enough to try on Wacoal bras (38DD) and I'd heard people touting them for years. I tried on about half a dozen styles in Macy's recently - not impressed! The shaping wasn't there, or the lifting or the separating, the shape of the cups always seemed to cut at the most unflattering angle on my cleavage giving me quadra-boob. For my money it is still Lunaire and Elomi! Herroom.com has an excellent variety.
Gipsprettyface 1 Posted January 13, 2011 Julie, they size you for free there if you are iffy on your size. But personally I absolutely love their Incredible bras, they are pretty much all I wear. Plus the bands are wide, helping with back flab:) I also like the Biofit a lot too
