Strwberriekissesrbetter 2 Posted December 27, 2010 I was just wondering if it is normal to get severe gas pains 8weeks out after surgery? Yesterday the hubby took me for a drive and we were in the car for about 3 and a half hours then stopped to eat and drove another hour and a half home. On the way home I got this pain that started in my stomach and went to my back, shoulder and chest, It was so intense I screamed the whole way home! It felt like the pain I had after surgery which was Gas ! Is this a common issue and what causes it? Cause I sure dont want to repeat last night again!! emilygrace 5 Posted December 28, 2010 No, gas pain that far after surgery is not usual. Any pain that makes you "scream all the way home" is not normal. Call your doctor.
Tiffykins 673 Posted December 28, 2010 I'm 18 months out, and I still get shooting gas pains if I eat a big meal, or a heavy fat meal. So, gas can happen anytime, and if it passed as gas then I wouldn't see the concern. I ate duck a la orange on my birthday, and "KATY BAR THE DOOR" for about an hour after I ate. I was able to walk it off before we got to the bar, and was fine for the remainder of the night. Did you try some new foods, or eat something you haven't had in awhile? ? ?
