My mind is racing - pre-op planning and post op life

Recommended Posts

Hi All -

This is my first official post to ALL. I have been doing all of the pre op things that you have to do and now my journey will begin tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will begin a 2 week Pre-op liquid diet. I have been reading everyone's posts and trying to prepare myself for this.

I have been having the same feelings as some of you - Will I ever be able to eat bread again? Today I want to eat the items I will not be able to eat again for a while. I really think I will struggle with the mental hunger and have been trying to identify triggers - so I can avoid them.

I am hoping to keep myself busy the next couple of weeks so I don't make everyone around me crazy. I am a pretty steady person and I can not believe I am having stress about it. I think it is just like the first day of school and a new job. The unknown is a little disturbing. I can focus on the things I have control over. Making sure I eat the right food and making sure I stay active will help quite a bit.

Here's to a wonderful new year - I wish all of you the best. This will be an interesting year.

Hey,

Good luck with the sleeve and your liquid diet! I found it okay, I knew it was a means to an end and it wouldn't be forever. Towards the end it was hard work, but knowing that my new tummy was healing made it easier to deal with. You sound like you are pretty organised and sorted for the beginning of your journey. Remember to keep us up dated. Once, again, good luck!

you are right - the next year will be interesting!! For all of us!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
