Can you chug down water?

Recommended Posts

I don't mean while eating. I mean when you are really thirsty and you take a bottle of Water and just chug it down.

Can you still do that when you are banded? Ever?

I can't! I had trouble just drinking Water for the first 6 weeks. Now I can drink faster, but too fast makes me burp and hurt.

Until I had my last fill, I was able to glup down the Water, but now its little sips & it has made it super hard to get down the 100ozs I was doing daily, now I'm luck to get half that.

Yes!

But it took a while after my second fill for me to be able to do it. I guess I loosened up. ???

I chug Water all the time, as long as the water is room temp. If the water is ice cold - then I have to take it slower.

I have been able to do it right along. I have had 2 fills and I will be getting my third next week.

2 fills and I've been able to chug the entire time. I do take a little more time between actual swallows than I used to, and don't even try for the same volume, but haven't had any problems so far.

I cant chugalug down an entire bottle in less than 5 minutes like before, but I can definitely drink an entire bottle in say 10-15 minutes.

I can drink Water fast with no problems at all. I have no restriction so this might explain the ability to do that.

I can drink down a 24 oz bottle pretty quickly. The trick for me is to make sure I don't puff out my cheeks, I can swallow as much Water as my mouth can hold without my puffing out my cheeks full of water. ;)

I can chug all I want but only after about 2pm. Early AM I can drink a glass of Water in a few minutes but have to pause between several swallows. No fill yet.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
