giblert 0 Posted August 11, 2006 I'm 2 weeks post-op today and I've often wondered about this as I'm a former Water chugger. I'm too scared to push the envelope now so I've slowly worked up from little sips to normal swigs. I almost do want to try chugging just to see what it feels like. After 2 weeks on a liquid diet I've yet to feel any restriction or indication that I have the band. I'm sure that will change once I move on to real food or have my 1st fill. *susan* 1,709 Posted August 11, 2006 I am not able to chug. If I drink anything that is cold, it hurts. If I drink to fast, it hurts. If I drink to much at one time, it hurts.
LapBandit 5 Posted August 12, 2006 I tested the waters first (no pun intended) before I started guzzling down Water post-op, but I've found I can chug-a-lug with the best of them still. This is great news for me because I've never been a water sipper!
Boo Boo Kitty 3 Posted August 12, 2006 I am only close to 2 weeks post-op so I don't know how far I can push it. I am NOT a sipper so it is hard. Sometimes I gulp and then spit it back into the cup out of total fear...lol...I love Water and wants lots of it!
seppi 0 Posted August 13, 2006 I have a small fill. It depends on the day as to whether or not I can chug. Today yes, yesterday no way came right back up. I try it slow at first and then gage how it feels.
Chickie 15 Posted August 13, 2006 I don't mean while eating. I mean when you are really thirsty and you take a bottle of Water and just chug it down. You bet! Not ice cold Water, but room temp-out-of-the-tap water.
