I love Christmas

Recommended Posts

I'll be happy come January when everyone else is on a diet. lol! Being around all of the yummy holiday food and being 3 weeks post-op is a bit of a challenge.

I'm trying to stay focused on family and other fun holiday activites and obsess less about the food.

I hated watching people eat when I was newly sleeved. It seemed like all people did was eat, eat, eat.

Just try to visualize yourself in a cute little summer outfit looking all hot and sexy. If that doesn't work, stuff a cookie down their throats! LOL

I'm so with you on this CandyGirl!! OMW we had a Nacho bar at work today... everything looked so amazing and smelled fantastic!! I had some meat, refried Beans, a tiny bit of nacho sauce and sour cream, green onions, tomatoes and olives. NO CHIPS!!! Ughhhh!!! Everyone had heaping huge plates full and I felt like such a ditz... but everyone knows I'm doing Protein only ( ;) ) so I got away with it.

LOL I really felt left out though, but I figure it will all be worth it when summer comes around and I'll be wearing tiny clothes and dressing to the 9's!!! :D

It will be better I agree when everyone else is doing their little diets to get off the Holiday pounds. Can't wait. :)

I am still sometimes shocked how much people eat. Isn't that funny when I used to be one of them. I have nacho memories myself, bc after my sleeve we went to a party where they had simple nachos w jalapenos which I love. I should have just had one at least with cheese bc I was probably salivating I wanted one so bad. I did have that nacho a few weeks/months later. We went to a place that sells them and I insisted my husband buy me nachos and I ate like 2 and then said okay, I'm done. It was so funny my husband was kinda ticked b/c they were like $3.00 for 2 bites. Now I can eat more, but it was so funny at the time. Best damn nacho I ever had .

I work from home and suggested to the company that they allow us to meet for a holiday luncheon like the people who work in the offices. And can you guess they schedule it on the day of my surgery. So far we have stayed away from any public gatherings since my surgery. I did have a friend buy me dress size Med for when I get to my goal. I now have that hanging on my closet door so I can see it everytime I go into the bedroom. That is giving me incentive to be good and stick to my new style of eating and not cheat. I also did not bake this year or make any big meals. I am far away from family so we also had no family gatherings to attend so that did help. We can do this!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
