myrori 55 Posted December 22, 2010 This morning I got up to go to the bathroom and when I went to lay back down I got this really bad pain in the center of my back, directly behind my sternum. It was so bad I had to sit up and the pain then moved to my sternum and then up into the back of my throat. It felt like a combination of sharp pain and pressure and spasm. It lasted about 20 minutes. I rocked and burped and it seem to let up a bit. Now that I am up again and moving around I decided to try and eat after taking prilosec and gas x and the first bite of cottage cheese and the pain is back. Not quite as intense, but there right at my sternum. Again burping seems to provide a few seconds of relief. It reminds me of that day in the hospital where the nurses were whispering to each other, esophageal spasm? Any ideas what is going on???
FlyGirl 18 Posted December 22, 2010 If it's a consitant pain I think you should probably call your DR. I was having that same kind of pain for two days before I called my DR and ended up in the ER. It just kept getting worse and then I couldn't keep anything down. It could be just gas pains or maybe muscle spasms but better to be safe than sorry. I hope you feel better soon. Kelli Kelli, what was wrong that you had to go back? The pain let up after burping and gas ex, yet I still feel "something" right under my breast bone, like a stuck feeling with no food???? I am thinking maybe a little irritation as yesterday I did not feel well, and even had to lay down at one point. I am thinking now I may have picked up something from my Grandbabies who are visiting and their Mom got ill feeling last night about 6 hours after I felt bad yesterday. I am guessing it is all about feeling new sensations minus a stomach??? I have not vomited and I am able to get in my liquids today. I am going to take a second dose of my Prilosec tonight as well as some more Gas ex

I am going to take a second dose of my Prilosec tonight as well as some more Gas ex I ended up having mesenteric venious thrombosis (blood clot) AND pancreatitus! It was absolutly horrible. I spent 9 days in the hospital. Since you are able to get liquids down I'm sure it's not that. I read with the pancreatitus nothing will stay down and it's true! These new sensations without a stomach are crazy.. I don't really know how to explain it but I just feel like everything is not stuck together anymore. I notice it most when I am in bed laying on my side. It kinda grosses me out. My abdomen feels like a bag of marbles. It's not near as bad as it was in the very begining but i stll feel it. Do you have those same feelings?
myrori 55 Posted December 23, 2010 No not now, I spent the first two weeks sleeping upright in the lazy boy so maybe I did not notice the laying down feeling? Also I have had 4 sections and a gallbladder out the old way so I guess all those loose feelings are familiar? I remember after my first csection feeling like everything was going to fall out when I stood up. It all does become normal feeling once again:) I am sure I do not have pancreatitus, as two of my co workers have had it and from what they described the pain was no where near that!
