What are your favorite foods that you use to get all of your Protein in. I am new to this (6 days post opt) and I am just worried that I am not going to be getting my required amounts of protein in like I should.

I was told by my dietitian, that for the first two weeks I would be on liquid Protein shakes, then soft foods, then reintroduction of regular foods. Foods that I am aware of that are high in Protein are chicken breast, fish (especially tuna), eggs, Beans, peas, and nuts. I am sure there are other foods, but this is mostly what I eat.

Hope this helps.

Theresa

Protein shakes!! They aren't always the easiest to get "down" but I make myself have at least one at a min. of 40g of protein a day! Most days it's my Breakfast and lunch because I just can't stomach that much at once! I also eat at least one meat with dinner or I have eggs with cheese. My Snacks are low fat cheese sticks with 5g of protein each and I can usually eat two for a snack!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
