What have you been eating? If you are having something spicy-that may cause it. I wish that would be the case for me, I have been cold since surgery due to the blood thinners we had to take.

I've been cold too...probably from the blood thinners...and lack of calories. Must be something you are eating...cause I am freezing...;-)

For me, a sign I've overeaten or that my blood sugar is going nuts is that I get hot and a bit lightheaded.

My husband gets hot after every meal, no matter what he eats. He's never been sleeved - it's just the way his body works. He heats up like a furnace while he's digesting food.

I hope you figure it out. Do you have anything else going on at the same time that could be related, like dizziness or a heavy feeling in your chest?

WELL...I was laughing as I saw this topic because last night I made the fatal mistake of trying to step up my game on my chilli and decided to drop an entire packet of chilli powder in there...BIG mistake, after eating the chilli I looked like I came straight out of the sauna. I think the hot feeling might also have something to do with metabolic distribution and fuel basically. Who knows...everyday I learn something.

Today, after work, I went to a local restaurant and decided to order a bowl of the lobster bisque. It was always my favorite before surgery. I got about 1/8 th of the way into the bowl and started to get super hot. The more I ate, the hotter I got. By the time I was done (I ate about 3/4 of the bowl) and got up, I had sweat through my sweater and jeans! I felt like I was going to vomit the whole way home! I went directly to bed and took a long nap. I guess I was not ready for a "restaurant experience!"

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
