I made pizza today and ate it, yum yum! Well, it was a modified version. I had a slice of 100% wheat tortilla and put cheese and peperonni on it. I baked it in the oven and it was delicious!

Alot of people say they avoid carbs, was this a no no?

great idea! I have a wrap or tortilla most days with my lunch, with Beans cheese and tomatoes and in the grill, you can also buy the weight watchers or other lower calorie ones, I'm def trying that as of tommorrow, with some Tomato sauce to make it tast like real pizza!

I have done the same thing. I found wraps that are only 70 cals, and I think very low carbs. I will check on the brand later. I put pizza sauce or spagetti sauce on it, fat free shreaded cheese, and turkey pepperoni and/or turkey bacon. YUM!!! Not as good as full fat pizza but still pretty tasty!

I just checked the brand, they are called OLE Mexican food. They are 71 calories for 1 tortilla, 5g carbs, and 8g Protein. Sometimes I do turkey in them or chicken. I usually only use a half of one. I made tacos a few weeks ago, and put the tortilla on my George Forman grill and melted the fat free cheese on it, YUM! I found them with the other tortilla's at the grocery.

Here they are:

XTREME WELLNESS

HIGH Fiber LOW CARB

TORTILLA WRAPS

If it works for you, then it's NOT a no-no.

I was never a heavy duty carb watcher either. I focused on Protein and keeping calories at a specific level (different depending on how far out I was).

oh, I forgot to mention. I added Ragu pizza sauce on top too. YUM YUM! Tasted really good. I am looking for receipes with lighter meats. I am finding that I am loosing my appetite for the heavy meats like chicken, etc. Anyone else have some good receipes with light meatt?

I made the Ricotta Bake Cups from the Eggface blog: http://transitionali....wordpress.com/ And they were so good! Perfect for taking to our New Year's Eve get-together. I can see making these and storing them in the freezer, then having one or two for a pizza-like dinner on the fly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
