Truthfully? I eat almost all my meals out. :nervous

So I figured out my Four Fave Foods are:

1. Seafood

2. Cheese

3. Fruit

4. Wine

Therefore, my all time favourite Bandster meal would be one that combines all four. It's easy to do at either of my favourite Mexican seafood restaurants.

So a glass of Real Fresh Sangria with fresh fruit inside always is a perfect opening.

That combines my 3rd & 4th fave foods in one glass. :)

Next, I love to be served a yummy mini-dinner of a delicious Queso Fundido or a Queso Fundido con Mariscos, which is a yummy seafood mini-casserole styled dip. (A sample Queso Fundido recipe, without seafood is here ) It's similar to a Mexican version of a Seafood Fondue (for a basic American version of Seafood dip - here's another recipe here).

For those who like this sort of thing (please remember to keep to Bandster portions. I do, but I don't count calories, generally :) ) here is an easy Seafood Fondue Dip/Casserole that can be made in a Crockpot. The recipe is here.

Whew, all this web site linking has made me tired. Doesn't looking up recipes count as much as actually cooking them does? :)

Bon Appetit ! :hungry:

chicken tenderloins and green Beans w/almonds.

In a large skillet, sautee some garlic bits (I used the stuff in a jar) in some olive oil. Lay in the chicken pieces and season with Italian seasoning, black pepper and (this is important) McCormick's Seasoned meat Tenderizer (none other will do! It's my secret ingredient to chicken). Get both sides lightly browned and then cover the skillet and let the chicken "steam" while you cook the green Beans.< /p>

I buy frozen whole green beans that come with a sliced almond and seasoning packet. I throw the frozen beans in a skillet with a bit of garlic and olive oil and cook on a fairly high heat, tossing the beans often so they don't burn. Once they are all hot, and still very crunchy, I add the almond slices and seasoning.

Mm Mmm! What a meal!

Also, we love boneless pork steaks marinated in Krogers 30 Minute Marinade - Sesame and Ginger, or KC Masterpiece Marinade - Ginger Teriyaki. Either are exceptionally good on pork or chicken and then cooked on the grill. (outdoor grill or George Forman grill)

Grilled asparagus

Buy a bundle of asparagus, rinse it well. On a cutting board or flat surface, pour about 1 tbs of good quality olive oil. Put the asparagus on the surface and rub back and forth through the oil until it's completely but lightly covered. Dust with garlic salt. Wrap with bacon or proscuitto and secure with shishkabob sticks OR make sure you have the "ends" in the same place, so you can put them face-side down. Then just grill it until the meat is cooked well & the asparagus is done.

DO YOU WRAP ONE PIECE OF BACON AROUND ONE ASPARAGUS?

OR WRAP SEVERAL PIECES OF BACON AROUND THE BUNCH?

CAN YA TELL I DON'T COOK MUCH BUT I'M TRYING

Tilapia fish with a basalmic reduction

usually with asparagus or string Beans and mashed turnips.

Recipe:

Fresh Tilapia Fish

Asparagus

Turnips

Basalmic Vinegar

My Wife

Take my wife and the rest of the ingredients, put them in the kitchen and promise to do the dishes after she's done cooking, including the hand washed pots and pans. On a bad night I will also throw in some vacuum promises, or even an offer for a movie on the weekend. This is a daily discussion in my house. Thankfully my beautiful wonderful wife loves to cook and doesn't want to see me beg too often...LOL.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
