Really Rough Morning...ugggg

Recommended Posts

ok...after reading the 'have you cheated poll' yesterday, I cheated. Not just once, but 3 TIMES!!!! First, I took a finger tip taste of Peanut Butter. That's it....just a small finger tip. Next, I ate the icing from the top of the plastic of some cinnamin rolls, but only from one roll. I just swiped it with my finger and licked it. Lastly, I took a bite from my daughter's chicken strip. I chewed it up and spit it out. I didn't swallow the chicken...just wanted the taste. I don't know what happened yesterday. I completely lost control. :o

So, this morning comes and I have had diarhea all morning. I have had the cold sweats, clammy hands, the works. Is this dumping because I cheated? I am 8 days out from my sleeve and have zero problems until this. Should I call my doctor? I really don't want to tell on myself and my follow up appt is on Thurs. Thoughts?

Meanwhile, I have learned my lesson.

Hmmmm I think if you are worried call the Doctor better safe than sorry I would hate for something to be wrong and you didnt want to say anything. On the other hand he may tell you it is normal and put your mind at ease so that would be worth the call as well.

Feel better soon:(

even when we chew and spit out, our saliva already has begun the digestive stage and some does enter into your system. Because we are back to almost a 'clean diet' so to speak, i think any change in fats/calories/preservatives will be a shock to our system.

Sounds like you may have some slight adjusting to do when you begin the soft or mushies stage and can eat "real" food again. Take it slowly.

I understand the need to taste stuff, tho. While in the hospital I salivated over the food commercials. Pre-op, I couldn't give a rip on them... now it all looks so good when the few 5 things i'm eating aren't so satisfying anymore.

I can't wait to get my sleeve healed up so I can eat normal, but in super tiny quantities! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
