Two NSVs in one day!

Recently my wedding ring fell off so I put it way to get sized when I reach goal, so yesterday at the mall we passed Kay Jewelers and they had a sterling silver/white sapphire ring special for 20 bucks! and I asked to see it thinking it would be a cheap in between ring. The salesman took it out of the cabinet and I asked what size they come in and he said they were all one size and I would have to have it sized up or down. Suddenly the 20 dollar special was not such a special, UNTIL I tried on the rind and it fit perfectly! I asked what size it was it is a 6 and 3/4! I wore a size 9 before:o I did not know what was more thrilled with, the price or size!

Then we went into the Disney store and they had 10 dollar sweatshirts, for the first time in over 20 years I picked up an XL off the shelf and it fit!!!!

Now that may not sound like a big deal to some, but for the chick who was previously having to buy 2 and 3 xs for the last 20 years and never anything from a "regular" store, this is a huge accomplishment for me!

Congratulations! I have an aquamarine ring (my birthstone) and I will be thrilled when I'm able to get it on a finger other than my pinkie.

I think the biggest day for me will be the day I am able to walk into the regular ladies department and buy something that fits.

I'm beginning the process January 1 and hoping to be approved for surgery by April or May. You guys continue to give me encouragement that I am making the right decision.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
