kaiti1965 0 Posted December 10, 2010 Hello- I had my sleeve done on July 23, 2010. The day of my surgery I was 315 at almost 5'9. Today I am at a steady 255. Here is my problem. Since I had my surgery I have had absolutely no follow up care. I had my surgery done in Tijuana. The surgery went well, but I have never heard from my doctor. There where other things that happened that seemed to shut down communication. That aside, I really dont have any clue as to what I should be eating, what I should be avoiding, How many grams of Protein, etc. Can anyone give me some help? I know this problems comes late in the stage of things, but I have hit a stall going on over a month now and am at a complete loss. I have increased my Water intake. Increased my Proteins, am watching my carbs. Which I will be honest I wasnt before, as initially prior to surgery, I was type 2 diabetic, and I sort of went on a bender, not over eating but enjoying eating whatever I wanted to eat. It had been many years. I guess I am beating myself up now for it. So IM at a loss. I just dont know what to do or how to get over this hurdle. ANY guidence or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thank you, Kaiti
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted December 10, 2010 There are a lot of us who had surgery in Mexico. I haven't had any follow up either. There is a lot of information online. Stalls are normal. For the most part you should have 60 or more grams of Protein per day, 30 grams of carbs, 64 oz of Water and 1,000 calories. You can google a vertical sleeve diet and you should get a lot of information. Somebody just posted something from a website which I think was from Cornell University but I don't know how to find it. I bet someone will provide the link for you.
