You have to wash them several times and dry them with papertowels for best results. The smell I couldn't get pass, so good luck. Let me know how it goes.

They are nowhere near close to Pasta noodles, not within a million miles. The smell is horrific, I washed/rinsed/dried over and over and over, and the smell and texture was horrific.

Spaghetti squash is much better in my opinion. I actually mixed it with regular angel hair Pasta noodles and my husband and son gobbled it down. For me, personally, the Shirataki noodles are disgusting.

I've had them numerous times and really enjoyed them! I didn't find the foul smell everyone talks about??!!! I opened the package, rinsed them and cooked them up, added some spaghetti sauce with a few meatballs and VOILA! They weren't fantastic but they weren't bad either. Try them out (they're only about $2) and judge for yourself :)

They make a rice looking version that I find works well in a Soup. If you don't like the texture of the noodles (some people find them rubbery or slimy), you don't really have to chew the rice-like ones. It's very filling and, in the right broth, you can't taste them.

The texture is what got me. They are NO where near a spaghetti noodle. Its like saying soy milk tastes just like regular milk.. Ummm NO it doesnt, but some people do not mind the flavour of soy. So that being said some people do not mind the noodles. I personally will not buy them again.

They are okay. Nothing to write home about. They are a good substitute for the motion of spaghetti. I've enjoyed them with shrimp and veggies in a cheese sauce when I was doing MediFast. Like Tiffykins said, spaghetti squash is a yummier option.

I tried some. Mine were made from a yam plant, not from Tofu. The smell when opened was really fishy to me, but after rinsing in a colandar several times, the smell went away. I dried them on paper towels then added them to a steam veggie dish with a soy based sauce. I mixed them in together. We had the dish along with rotisserie chicken. My husband thought they were the noodles from the Ramen noodles. That is what the texture is like to me. I thought they were OK, but they didn't impress me too much.

I did the spaghetti squash recently, with a homemade spaghetti sauce and some meatballs. I really enjoyed that.

They're gross, and I love soy. The only thing they have in common with spaghetti is the shape.

NV?

I typically like most things soy, so its not a flavor of soy issue for me. They're just gross.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
