mosytif 1 Posted December 10, 2010 Hey guys, I'm new and will probably be popping in on the group. I scheduled for surgery next week, 16th. I do not have an angel yet and would very much like one. My name is Mona and I'm 347. My goal weight is 160 as I'm 5'8" (snd a half but no one wants to give me credit for my half). So that's a goal loss of about 187. I chose gastric sleeve because it seemed like a no brainer. Less evasive and I'm also already hypoglycemic. Well, hello everyone. Looking forward to getting to know some of you. lkcraig316 4 Posted December 10, 2010 Hi, Mona! I'm new on here also. I just started the process with an assessment at the surgeon's office. I will begin my 3 month prep on January 1. Am hoping to be able to have surgery in May or June. I'm hypoglycemic too. It runs in my family. I was kind of wondering if I would have any problems with that afterward, being restricted from carbs and eating so much Protein. I have tried low-carb diets in the past and have been very discouraged because my body couldn't handle it. Please keep us updated on the process after surgery. I am at 243 pounds and am looking to lose down to between 130 and 140. Just getting below 200 would be a cause for celebration! Good luck on the 16th! I will be thinking about you. Oops! I didn't realize this was the GLBT board. Hope you don't mind that I crashed it.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you. Mona Welcome Mona and a big Congratulations on choosing the sleeve! You have picked the right one. . . it's a great tool. . . just be prepared to use it. . in the beginning I really hated it cause the changes are so wild. . . you are so used to eating anything and everything in LARGE amounts and suddenly overnight it's snatched away and your expected, or should i say forced, to change everything about your eating habits. . . it's tough and i had buyers remorse big time. . . but when you start to see the results and consistently, you will be so happy and it's even better when you get to shop for "normal" sizes and smaller things. . . when clothes in your closet fall off you and you actually can fasten your seat belt when your in the car, or plane, and when you can clean yourself without pulling your back out of place! Girl your gona love this, just don't get discouraged in the first few weeks. . . there are stalls you will have to content with, I was on one for 3 1/2 months, but i just sucked it up and dealt with it and it moved eventually. . . remember too that Rome wasn't built in a day either. . . you didn't get fat overnight and you surely won't get thin overnight either. . . hope this helps a bit. . . chat soon again and the best of luck to you!
