VSGandMe2011 (DisneyMomma) 20 Posted December 7, 2010 For those of you who used insurance, did you pay anything up front before your surgery or did they bill you after? My deductible will be met after my sleep study in January, and then my insurance pays 80% until I meet my maximum out of pocket. How did this work for you? (Anyone not using Dr. Nick, feel free to share your experience as well!) I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row!!

TexasTeacher 7 Posted December 7, 2010 I'm using Dr. Barker and having surgery 3 weeks from today! My out of pocket is 2,000 in addition to the 500 deductible. I've met the deductible and 1/2 the out of pocket. Thus, when I went for my final consult last week I was expecting to be told that I would owe 1,000; however, they said that it was only 500. Mine is due two weeks before the surgery. Hope this helps, but it may depend on both your insurance policy as well as your surgeon's payment policy.
leeblewb 9 Posted December 9, 2010 My doctor's office requires you to pay $400 up front. My ded. is $350, but $400 is their standard amount they make you pay.
