7 days out and not losing

Recommended Posts

Hi 2Fluffy,

I am right there with you on this one. It is so very hard not to get frustrated, especially when I successfully lost 17 lbs. during my 2 week pre-op liquid Protein diet. I started at 333.4 lbs. and was down to 316.6 lbs. the day of my surgery. At this very moment, I am at (gulp) 323.6 lbs. It was 320.4 lbs. this morning. Right now I am just hoping it's that time of the month.

I guess we will all have to keep returning to this board to receive our daily dose of encouragement. The best of luck to you.

My surgery date was December 1, and my weight was 328. Today, my weight is.... 328! I am a little frustrated, and am having trouble getting many calories in. I'm averaging around 300 a day, on Clear Liquids with a little Protein Powder added and the occasional SF/FF pudding with Protein powder added. I don't see my doc until 12/17, and I wish it were sooner!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
