Well, I went to Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. I'm glad I did!! He doesn't come as inexpensive as the others, but he's worth every penny.

I am booked with Dr.Ramos Kelly and I have heard nothing but good about him and I have done some digging thats for sure . At first I was going to go with Dr. Almanza Reyes but there was just way to many bad things about him for me to be comfortable so I switched. it was just my personal choice there were also lots of happy customers who went to him so it goes both ways. Just do your research and you will find the one you are comfortable with

I agree with both above posts. Dr. Aceves has a great reputation and he has earned it.

I went to Dr. Pompa and agree with Sleeve also. I had a great surgical experience at LIMARP and have no qualms about suggesting the doctor to others.

Ok I'm excited I get sleeved tomorrow. But I have a customer that wants to go to Mexico who should she ask for and where would she go?

I also went with Dr. Aceves....he and his staff are the best. He is very professional and reliable. Ask her to contact Nina, she's the patient coordinator and she'll gladly give you all the necessary information.

If you need any other information please feel free to ask.

Goodluck and wish you the best.:)

Pompa is another excellent choice. I actually spoke with her on the phone while I was doing my Surgeon search. She'd have been my second choice, but was able to come up with enough to have Aceves do my revision. Aceves was more experienced in what I needed to have done.

OP, you will want to look her up too, when you get the chance. :)

Dr. Aceves is where i went after doing 2 years of VSG research. I chose him after looking at my VSG here in the states as well. Do your research and feel comfortable with YOUR decision is the best advise I can tell you.

I was sleeved on Nov. 27th by Dr. Rodriguez too. Fortunately, no complications and I have lost 16 lbs already. Like Lisa said the hospital was very clean and the staff bedside manners were excellent.

I was also sleeved by Dr. Rodriguez. My husband and I both had surgery the same day, actually. He has lost more than me, but that's my only complaint! (Kidding, but why do men always lose faster?!) We both had excellent care, and loved all the doctors in Dr. Rod's group. We have lost weight and feel great. I have heard good things about many Mexican surgeons, but it's good to do some research as well. Good luck to you and your customer getting the sleeve.

I had surgery in Juarez by Dr. Rodriguez (7/1/10). I have had no complications and am down 115 lbs so far. Hospital very clean and also liked Dr. Rod and his staff. From reading here there are several good surgeon choices in Mexico.

I just had my sleeve by Dr. Aceves on Dec 9th ~ I would definitely recommend him and Almater Hospital in Mexicalli. As was said, search/google and the results are all good! Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
