Middlesister57 14 Posted December 6, 2010 Hi, I am new here. Just registered, and I am scheduled for my surgery on Dec 14. I have been thinking about WLS for 20 years. I'm 53 and the past 3-4 years have been bad for me in terms of getting around. The deciding factor for me happened this summer when I went to my nephews wedding. I live in Michigan and the wedding was in South Carolina. Although I was there I really felt like I was unable to participate. I didn't go to the beach with the others, didn't go on the tour of the area, didn't go shopping, etc.... Just kinda stayed in the house the whole week while everyone else had fun doing things. When I got home I decided this is it. and started by attending a seminar and now here we are 6 months later and I am one week and one day away. I go from being scared to death to excited. I can't wait to get my life back. There are so many things that I used to do that I don't do anymore and am really looking forward to being able to do it all again. Wish me luck and I would love to hear some success stories from anyone out there. Thank You... Middlesister
Telisaswan 1 Posted December 6, 2010 Hi Middlesister: I am new here too - this is my very first post. I know exactly how you feel. I too, am missing out on so much of life because of my weight. I don't have a surgery date yet but hope it will be some time in January or February. My surgeon wants me to lose 10% of my weight first, but I am otherwise ready to go. I too, have moments of horror, wondering how it will turn out... is this the right thing to do?.... But I think it will help me get my life back. Anyway, I just wanted to welcome you to this forum and wish you much success. This forum has been a wonderful place for me to come to get answers to the hundreds of questions running through my head. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and will be watching to see how you do. Good luck! Tat2Swan
