My surgery is this morning at 730 am and im getting nauseous and shaky over how painful it will be after. I'm not scared ill die or something bad will happen, but the pain right after is seriously scaring me shitless. (pardon the language but that best describes it lol) Need a little reassurance from people who felt the same and/or wanna tell me im just thinking about it too much because either will help at this point lol.

getting the surgery done by Dr. Rosenthal at Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL

Relax, be kind to yourself. There will be drugs to help with the pain. Good luck and congratulations!

Slow down.... baby girl. Why do you think it will be so painful? Do you have a low tolerance of pain? Every person is different.

I, myself had very very little pain. Used my morphine drip for half a night, then said to myself I'm not in any pain, so why am I using it. I stopped it while I was in the hospital. If you do have any pain it will be manageable. The doctor will NOT send you home until it is.

EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT. Don't stress over that.

GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES!!!! :D

Don't let this make you crazy. It's really not that bad at all. They will give you drugs at the hospital and drugs for home. My experience was liquid tylenol was enough at home.

It will be ok, I promise, and you'll be soooooo glad you did this! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I just had my surgery 12 hours ago. I am a wimp when it comes to pain. When I was in the recovery room, I was in a lot of pain. They gave me more pain meds and I was fine. I have been up to the bathroom twice. I have already made a circle around the floor. I'm not going to say there is no pain, but it is tolerable. You will be fine. You will get a pca pump to control your pain. Make sure to tell the nurse if you are in a lot of pain because they will do anything they can to relieve the pain.

Trust me if I can do this, anyone can!!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
