Reese 0 Posted December 1, 2010 I am beginning to get depressed. Tomorrow will be a month post-op and I haven't even lost 20 lbs. I can barely eat without puking, I don't have bowel movements without a double dose of laxatives, I can't drink a lot of Water as it hurts, even when taking small sips and I am in pain EVERY day. I am not usually negative but after all of the money spent and all of the pain of surgery, not seeing results is depressing me and making me hate myself for putting myself through this. I don't know what else to do.......................................................

hopeandfaith 6 Posted December 1, 2010 PLEASE don't be depressed my goodness 20 pounds in four weeks is GREAT! That is 5 pounds a week. I'm sorry you are still hurting but keep drinking your Water. I know it's easy for me to say I'm not SLEEVED yet but from reading all these forums that is what they say. Some say drink warm water to make your stomach feel better, take smaller bites and just don't eat as much. Maybe Soup would be better for you right now. When do you go back to the doctor? Have you called them to see if they can give you something to help you. I SURE hope you get to feeling better SOON!!! HANG in there!

cocoapod 0 Posted December 3, 2010 visit your doctor and get the reassurance that you need. it will be okay. nothing to worry about. your body needs the time to settle after such a big operation. cocoapod
Tiffykins 673 Posted December 3, 2010 Sometimes people take longer to heal post-op, but a month out and still having pain is definitely not normal. You should contact your surgeon, and see if something is going on. Strictures can occur this early out, and you should be able to hit most of your fluid goals by now. You're body is still healing, and is trying to recover after major trauma. Essentially, the majority of your stomach has been amputated, and your body is trying to figure out what the heck is going on. BUT, you should not be having constant pain, plus it sounds like you could possibly be dehydrated, and bm's aren't going to happen regularly if you aren't getting in your necessary fluids. You aren't eating a lot so you bms will be less frequent as well. Again, call your doctor, and get into to see him/her ASAP.
